Florida 2020 Seasonal Snook Closure in Atlantic Starts Dec 15

The Florida recreational harvest season for snook closes Dec. 15 in Atlantic state and federal waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, and will remain closed through Jan. 31, 2021, reopening to harvest Feb. 1. Anglers may continue to catch and release snook during the closed season. Iowa DNR Seeking Comments on Proposed Laws Ahead of the 2021/22 Deer Hunting Season

The Iowa DNR is asking for public input on two laws passed and signed during the 2020 legislative session. The Iowa DNR wanted to clarify that there are no changes to legal firearms for the 2020 shotgun hunting seasons starting Dec 4th. The Iowa DNR is asking for hunter input ahead of the 2021-2022 deer seasons. KDWPT To Offer Deer Hunters Free Chronic Wasting Disease Testing

Deer hunters across Kansas can have deer they harvest during the 2020-2021 seasons tested for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) free of charge through the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT). ODFW Confirms Pneumonia Outbreak Spreads to New Baker County Bighorn Sheep Herd

Oregon (ODFW) and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) have determined that the same strain of bacterial pneumonia that caused a die-off in the Lookout Mountain bighorn sheep herd earlier in the year has spread to the Burnt River herd. North Carolina Stocking Surplus Trout to Central & Western Areas of the State

N.C. is expanding seasonal angling opportunities by stocking surplus trout in 38 impoundments across central and western North Carolina this winter. When fishing in these waters, anglers can harvest up to seven trout per day — with no bait restrictions and no minimum size limits. Temporary Texas Hunting Closures in Big Sandy Creek Unit Effective Dec 4

Idaho Extends Reduced Steelhead Bag Limits into Spring 2021 Season

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission recently extended the reduced bag and possession limits adopted last fall for steelhead into the 2021 spring steelhead season. The spring steelhead season begins on Jan. 1. Statewide, the daily bag limits for spring 2021 seasons are two steelhead daily and six in possession. South Dakota Confirms CWD Found in Sully and Lyman Counties

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) was recently confirmed in Sully and Lyman counties in South Dakota. Samples were obtained from two male white-tailed deer by hunters in Lyman County and one male mule deer from sick surveillance in Sully County.
