The Iowa DNR is asking for public input on two laws passed and signed during the 2020 legislative session. The Iowa DNR wanted to clarify that there are no changes to legal firearms for the 2020 shotgun hunting seasons starting Dec 4th. Oregon (ODFW) and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) have determined that the same strain of bacterial pneumonia that caused a die-off in the Lookout Mountain bighorn sheep herd earlier in the year has spread to the Burnt River herd. N.C. is expanding seasonal angling opportunities by stocking surplus trout in 38 impoundments across central and western North Carolina this winter. When fishing in these waters, anglers can harvest up to seven trout per day — with no bait restrictions and no minimum size limits. Big Thicket National Preserve is issuing two temporary closures of approximately 566 acres in the center of the 10,688-acre Big Sandy Creek Unit hunting area. Starting December 4, 2020 and ending on December 15, 2020, this closure is in place to facilitate an important resource management survey and study at these two locations.
