New York Sets Southern Zone 'Holiday Deer Hunt' for December 2021

New York State (DEC) recently announced the adoption of a new regulation to establish a Holiday Deer Hunt by extending the late bow and muzzleloader hunting seasons for deer from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, in New York's Southern Zone. TPWD Requests Volunteers to Temporarily Delay Abandoned Crab Trap Collection Efforts

Due to the unprecedented winter weather that has impacted the state this week, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is asking volunteers in this removal effort to wait until Monday, February 22nd before removing any traps with buoys from the open water. WVDNR Reminds Anglers of New Fishing Regulations for 2021

Anglers in West Virginia have new fishing regulations to follow and are encouraged to check the 2021 Fishing Regulations for a roundup of changes that may affect them. Probably the biggest change is that we now have a statewide 30-fish daily creel and 60-fish possession limit for game fish that didn’t have a creel limit before. The new creel and possession limit went into effect Jan. 1 for black and white crappie in aggregate, bluegill and all other sunfish species in aggregate, all other game fish currently not under a creel limit, and yellow perch. Hawaii 2021 Spring Bearded Turkey Season Opens on the Big Island March 1st

The opening of Hawaii 2021 Spring Bearded Turkey Hunting Season on the big island begins on Monday, March 1, 2021. The spring season will run for 46 consecutive days through Thursday, April 15, 2021. The opening of Hawaii archery hunting in Pu'u Anahulu Game Management Area (GMA) will begin on Sunday, March 7, 2021, and continuing on weekends and State Holidays through Sunday, June 27, 2021.  Annual closure of the archery season in this GMA will be from July through February.  The daily bag limit will be one pig of either sex, one male sheep (ram), and two goats (any sex) per hunter per day. The application period for Utah 2021 big game permits runs until 11 p.m. on March 4. To be included in the drawing for the hunts, you can apply on the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources website or over the phone by calling the nearest DWR regional office. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recently announced that a wolf harvest season will be Feb. 22-28, 2021. All hunters and trappers interested in obtaining a wolf harvest permit or preference point must apply beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. Wyoming sage grouse reproduction held steady in 2020 based on preliminary data from the wings of harvested chick and hen sage grouse. TPWD Temporarily Closes Fishing On Texas Coast

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has issued a temporary closure to saltwater fishing along parts of the Texas coast to protect resources during freezing weather conditions. The closure takes effect at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 and extends through 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Michigan DNR Approves 2021 Deer Hunting Regulations

Deer hunting regulations for the 2021 season were approved recently by the Michigan Natural Resources Commission. The changes, aimed at further simplifying deer regulations and removing barriers to hunting participation, go into effect with the start of the 2021 deer hunting seasons in September.
