Ohio anglers and hunters are encouraged to apply for controlled access opportunities this spring, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The online application period is open until Wednesday, March 31. Entry to each opportunity is selected through a random computer-based lottery system. ODFW Reminds Anglers: Only Artificial Flies/Lures Allowed on Santiam River until April 22

Oregon Santiam River anglers should be aware of a new regulation in effect this year to protect threatened wild winter steelhead. New for 2021, the use of bait is only allowed from April 22-Oct. 31 in the Santiam River mainstem, the North Santiam River up to Minto Dam and the South Santiam up to Foster Dam. Colorado 2021 Schedule Change for Wildlife Habitat Program RFP

Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Colorado Wildlife Habitat Program (CWHP) expects to release its Request for Proposals (RFP) in September 2021, with an anticipated application deadline of October 28. New Montana Bill 505 for Elk Management Under Some Criticism

Montana has an elk problem. They have too few of them in the right places, public land where hunters can pursue them with an over-the-counter tag for our full 5-week rifle season. And they have too many elk in the wrong places, large private ranches where public hunting is generally not allowed. Delaware’s 2021 upstate stream trout season will open early to minimize opening day crowds and accommodate responsible outdoor recreation during the current coronavirus (COVID-19) period.
