Apply for Louisiana 2021 Alligator Hunting Permits by June 30

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will conduct alligator lottery harvests on 19 LDWF Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), 28 public lakes and one U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) property Aug. 25-Oct. 30, 2021. Apply for Minnesota 2021 Elk Licenses by June 11

Interested hunters have through Friday, June 11, to apply for one of 30 elk licenses offered this year by the Minnesota DNR. Seasons will run from late August to mid-October. This year’s seasons are similar to last year’s, which provided hunters with more opportunities to harvest antlerless elk. Hunters can choose from three license options: a license for a bull elk; a license for an antlerless elk, which can be a female or a young male; or a license for either a bull or antlerless elk. Applications for Mississippi 2021 Alligator Hunting Tags Opens June 1

The 2021 Public Waters Alligator Hunting Season in Mississippi will open at 12:00 p.m. on August 27 and continue through 12:00 p.m. September 6. The application process for the 960 available permits will begin at 10:00 a.m. June 1 and continue through 10:00 a.m. June 8.  Applications are accepted on-line or at any point-of-sale location where MS hunting and fishing licenses are sold. Permits are limited by a random drawing and an electronic application is required. There is a $2.34 electronic processing fee. Vermont Accepting 2021 Muzzleloader Season Antlerless Deer Permit Applications

Vermont’s muzzleloader season antlerless deer permit applications are now available online at Vermont Fish and Wildlife’s website and from license agents.  The deadline to apply for a muzzleloader antlerless deer permit is August 4. TPWD Confirms CWD at Deer Breeding Facilities in Matagorda and Mason Counties

TPWD confirms Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) at deer breeding facilities in both Matagorda and Mason counties. This marks the first positive detection of the disease in these counties. An epidemiological investigation found that both deer breeding facilities had received deer from a Uvalde County premises where CWD was found on March 29. West Virginia Angler Reels in Record Musky   A West Virginia angler caught a state record muskellunge on April 30 in Braxton County. Chase Gibson of Mount Clare, WV, caught a 54.0625-inch, 39.64-pound musky at Burnsville Lake, breaking the previous record for length (53.5 inches) held by Joe Wilfong since 2017. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is now accepting offshore waterfowl blind and shoreline license applications for riparian (waterfront) properties.
