Idaho Proposes Extending Wolf Hunting/Trapping -- Seeks Comments

Idaho Fish and Game is seeking public feedback on a proposal to extend wolf hunting and trapping opportunities and enhanced methods of take. The proposed changes relate to Idaho legislative action that will take effect July 1. Senate Bill 1211 recently passed into law and extends wolf hunting and trapping with foothold traps to year-round on private property with landowner permission. Apply for South Carolina 2021 Alligator Hunting Permits by June 15

There is only a short time left to enter the South Carolina 2021 Public Alligator Hunting season lottery drawing. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on June 15. Tag fees, if selected, are $100. Additional fees apply to nonresident hunters. Applicants will be notified by email beginning in July of selection status.All hunters will be selected by a random computer drawing. CDFW Accepting Applications for 2021 Deer and Pig Hunting in Western Merced County

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is now accepting applications for a limited number of deer and pig hunting permits for opening weekend of the A Zone general season, Aug. 14-15, 2021. This is not a special hunt, but rather a drawing to control the number of hunters on popular public land during opening weekend. Utah Increases Fishing Limits at 10 Waterbodies

In anticipation of low water levels due to drought conditions, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources issued emergency changes to Utah's fishing regulations to allow anglers to catch and keep more fish at 10 waterbodies around the state. AGFC Accepting Applications for 2021 Urban Archery Deer Hunts

The application period for Arkansas’s special urban bowhunts for the 2021-22 deer hunting season is now open. All hunters must pass a proficiency test, pass the International Bowhunters Education Program (IBEP) course, and attend an orientation before receiving their urban hunt tags. DNREC Issuing Off-Peak Surf Fishing Permits

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control recently launched an off-peak surf fishing permit pilot program. The off-peak permits will allow anglers to drive-on surf fish during times when Delaware State Park beaches are not at capacity. To purchase an off-peak surf fishing permit, visit any park office within Delaware State Parks. Fishery managers from Oregon and Washington recently added extra fishing days for recreational spring Chinook salmon and steelhead (one day below and two days above Bonneville Dam) in the Columbia River. Utah Approves Decrease in General-Season Deer Permits for 2021

The Utah Wildlife Board recently approved a decrease in the number of general-season permits for the 2021 deer hunt.  Utah Division of Wildlife Resources biologists recommended the overall decrease in permit numbers to the Regional Advisory Councils and to the wildlife board. Utah DWR Proposes Changes to 2021 Waterfowl Hunts

After the passage of a new wildlife-related law during the 2021 legislative session, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is recommending a few changes to waterfowl hunting, as well as a few other items.
