The Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) invites hunters and other supporters to participate in the annual ICF Director’s Hunt at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area in southern Illinois. The 2021 Illinois Fall Trout Fishing Season will open Saturday, October 16 at 59 ponds, lakes and streams throughout the state. Minnesota Certifies New Catch-Release State Record Northern Pike and Tie for Muskie   Anglers over the summer caught and released a new Minnesota state record northern pike and tied the record for muskellunge. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources certified the state catch-and-release record northern pike, a 46 1/4 inch fish caught June 19 on Basswood Lake by Brecken Kobylecky, a 15-year-old from Geneva, Illinois. Montana sets 2021 Urban Archery Deer Hunt in Roundup

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled a special archery-only hunt for property in and around Roundup to reduce the number of mule deer in town. Special tags for the hunt go on sale on a first-come first-served basis starting at 5 a.m. Oct. 6, 2021, online or at any license dealer. FWP has issued 120 either-sex mule deer hunting licenses specifically for the Roundup management season at $10 each for residents and $75 each for non-residents. Arkansas Offering Five WRICE fields for 2021 Early Teal hunting Sept 25-26

Five private rice fields that are part of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Waterfowl Rice Incentive Conservation Enhancement program are being made available to public hunters via draw for this weekend, Sept. 25-26, during the state’s special early teal season. CDFW Reopens 34 Properties After USDA Forest Service Lifts Statewide Closure

The CDFW has reopened 34 of its properties to public use as of Thursday, Sept. 16, following the announcement by the USDA Forest Service’s Pacific Southwest Region(opens in new tab) lifting the closure of most California forests. Advise to Florida Hunters as the 2021 Deer Season Gets Underway

Florida 2021 deer season is already underway in certain zones. FWC would like hunters to brush up on hunting regulations. Beginning July 2021, dogs pursuing deer, wild hog, fox or coyote must have collars equipped and monitored with devices that allow remote tracking (GPS or telemetry).
