It’s an issue that hasn’t made waves until now, but it’s one hunters should know about. The forthcoming public hearing which would close all federal lands within Game Units 23 and 26A to moose and caribou hunters who aren’t federally qualified subsistence users from Aug. 1 through Sept. 30, 2021, which happens to coincide with the non-resident hunting season for caribou in Unit 23, and most of it in Unit 26A. Missouri Angler Catches World Record-Sized Spotted Gar

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) congratulates Devlin Rich of Williamsville for catching a new state record spotted gar. Rich was fishing with a pole-and-line at Wappapello Lake Feb. 25 when he reeled in the 10-pound, 9-ounce fish. His catch is not only the latest Missouri state record, but it beats the current spotted gar world record of 9-pounds, 12-ounces set back in 1994.
