Minnesota Sets One-fish Walleye Limit on Mille Lacs Lake for Spring, Fall fishing

Minnesota anglers will have two potential opportunities for Mille Lacs Lake walleye harvest during the 2022 open water season. A one-fish limit will allow Mille Lacs anglers to harvest one walleye 21-23 inches or one longer than 28 inches from Saturday, May 14 through Tuesday, May 31. Prospective bear hunters have until Friday, May 6, to apply for a bear hunting license from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Applications for the 2022 season can be submitted online, at any license agent or via telephone at 888-665-4236. North Carolina Confirms First CWD-Positive Deer Found in Yadkin County

Officials with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission recently announced that a sample collected from a hunter-harvested, white-tailed deer in Yadkin County has tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). Vermont Accepting Applications for 2022 Moose Season Lottery

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife voted to have 60 either-sex moose hunting permits and 40 antlerless moose hunting permits available this year for a hunt limited to Vermont’s Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) E in the northeastern corner of the state. Oregon Check-in Requirements for Bear, Cougar, Salvaged Roadkilled Deer/Elk in Effect

Effective March 19, 2022, anyone who salvages a roadkilled deer or elk or harvests a bear or cougar during hunting season will be required to call their nearest ODFW district office and make an appointment to check in their animal per the usual regulations.
