Oregon Releases Final Archery Elk Proposal

ODFW has released the final proposal for Commission consideration regarding changes to how archery elk season is managed for portions of eastern Oregon within the Blue Mountain region. This final proposal includes two major modifications from the original draft proposal released in March: Five units would be combined into a single Eagle Cap Zone hunt and there would be a single general season hunt for any part of the state not proposed for controlled hunting.  These changes are needed to... READ MORE

Register for FREE Oregon 2021 Youth Pheasant Hunts Around the State

ODFW’s youth hunters (age 17 and under) can sign up now for free pheasant hunts happening around the state starting in September, with an additional few hunt dates in October. There are multiple dates and hunt locations to choose from. These events are open only to youth who have passed hunter education. New CT Inland Fishing Rules Take Effect to Expand Opportunities

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announces new inland fishing regulations effective immediately that are intended to enhance existing and provide new fishing opportunities. Hunters looking for a new opportunity or a change of scenery this fall are encouraged to check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) 2021 drawn hunt permits program. ODFW Enacts Emergency Fishing Regulations Due to Drought

ODFW is implementing emergency regulations that began July 1 in several angling zones as Oregon faces a severe drought this summer, putting the state’s salmon, steelhead, trout and sturgeon at risk. As always, the latest regulations are listed at the top of the Recreation Report – Fishing Report for each zone. Always check your angling zone before you go fishing. The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is now accepting applications for 2021 deer lottery hunts on public lands through 5 p.m. on August 15. The Multi-site, Unrestricted Multi-site, Webb Gun, and Webb Archery lotteries operate independently and maintain separate preference points. Wyoming Anglers Asked to Report Tagged Trout in North Fork & Buffalo Bill Reservoir

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking anglers to report any tagged trout they catch in the North Fork of the Shoshone River and the Buffalo Bill Reservoir west of Cody. Iowa Relaxes Fishing Regulations at Otter Creek Lake in Tama County

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as of June15 relaxed the fishing regulations at Otter Creek Lake, near Tama to allow anglers to more freely harvest fish before the lake is dewatered this fall for a planned lake restoration project.
