New Hampshire 2021 Moose Hunt Opens October 16

For nine exciting days, October 16-24, a group of lucky moose permit holders and their hunting partners will have the experience of a lifetime taking part in New Hampshire’s annual moose hunt. A total of 40 permit holders were drawn in this year’s lottery, randomly selected by computer from a pool of more than 5,800 applicants. Connecticut’s (DEEP) has announced the Opening Days of turkey and small game hunting seasons. A variety of hunting seasons are available each fall. FWC closure for Gray Triggerfish, Red Grouper and some Snappers in Gulf State Waters

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved temporary closures to recreational harvest of gray triggerfish, red grouper, blackfin snapper, queen snapper, silk snapper and wenchman in Gulf state waters starting Monday, Oct. 11. MDWFP has Received Increasing Reports of Sick and/or Deceased Deer

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) has received an increasing number of sick and/or deceased deer reports within the past weeks. Wildlife Biologists suspect Mississippi may be experiencing an outbreak of Hemorrhagic Disease (HD), commonly called blue-tongue. Western South Dakota has Significant Disease Outbreak in Deer

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) has removed additional unsold antlerless deer licenses from some hunting units in western South Dakota due to a fatal deer disease. Wisconsin Sets Statewide Quota for the Fall 2021 Wolf Season - Licenses go on sale Oct 25

The Wisconsin DNR recently announced that the statewide quota for the Fall 2021 wolf season has been set at 130 wolves. State-licensed hunters and trappers will be authorized to harvest 74 wolves within the six zones established in the department’s regulations. The department will honor the Ojibwe Tribes’ treaty right within the Ceded Territory of 56. Colorado Selects Specific 2021 Deer/Elk Hunts for Mandatory CWD Testing

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has selected specific deer and elk hunts for mandatory chronic wasting disease testing in 2021 to inform how and where to fight the spread of CWD. Beginning in early October, CPW will be sending letters to Colorado rifle season hunters who have been selected for mandatory CWD testing. Florida 2021 Stone Crab Season Opens Oct 15

The Florida 2021 recreational and commercial stone crab harvest seasons start Oct. 15 and remain open through May 1, closing May 2, 2022. The minimum claw size limit is 2 7/8 inches. Wetland conditions has improved for the Oct. 2 opening day of Iowa’s duck season in the north zone.
